Amateur Golfer
An “amateur golfer” is one who plays the game as a non-remunerative and non-profit-making sport and who does not receive remuneration for teaching golf or for other activities because of golf skill or reputation, except as provided in the Rules.
The USDGA and local Host are not responsible for players (who are under Amateur Status or NCAA rules) if they receive any cash prizes.
The USGA is very clear on its stance of Amateur status. Please visit their website at www.usga.org You may waive all cash payouts (check with the USDGC committee).
