Welcome to the Official United States Deaf Golf Ranking, which is endorsed
by the US Deaf Golf Ranking Committee of the United States Deaf Golf Association (USDGA) and is a "rolling"
calculation that changes following the completion of selected deaf golf tournaments from across the
country. The purpose of the ranking is to determine the top deaf golfers in the country as well as the #1
ranked player at any given time during the year.
The official events from the United States Deaf Golf Championships, World
Deaf Golf Championships, Regional Deaf Golf Tournaments and selected deaf tournaments certified as official
competitions are all taken into account and points are awarded according to the players’ finishing
positions.
The US Ranking points for each player are accumulated over a two year
“rolling” period with the points awarded for each tournament that maintains certified competitive standards
that qualify the event as an official competition. Each player is then ranked according to his average
points per tournament, which is determined by: Taking the Overall Ranking Point less the Differential Index
[ (Average of all round scores) - Course Ranking x 113 ] / Slope Rating + USDGC/WDGC points).
Earning the most rating points are the two Deaf major
tournaments:
United States Deaf Golf Championships
World Deaf Golf Championships
Points are awarded as follows:
USDGC - 1st place (15) 2nd place (10) 3rd place (7) 4th place (5) 5th place (3) 6th place
(1)
WDGC - 1st place (15) 2nd place (10) 3rd place (7) 4th place (5) 5th place (3) 6th place
(1)
All deaf golfers that participate in certified deaf
competitions are eligible to earn ranking points and are encouraged by the USDGA to take part in the
regional events closest to their place of residence. If there are no such competitions and their is a
population of deaf golfers that play together they are most certainly encouraged to start a regional
competition where none currently exists for the players.
