Accommodations
USDGA has no contracts with any of the local hotels for Austin 2021
Option #1:
Sonesta at Bee Cave
https://www.sonesta.com/us/texas/bee-cave/sonesta-bee-cave-austin
Less than 1 mile from Falconhead. They have a partnership. Free shuttle to and from the golf course (participants are responsible to make prior arrangements with the hotel). They have a rooftop bar and a pool. It is also at the Hill Country Galleria, an outdoor mall that comes with many stores like Whole Foods, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Barnes and Noble along with a number of restaurants within walking distance. This is highly recommended. Rates will probably be in the $130-$150/night range.
Option #2: LOW BUDGET
Mountain Star Lodge
Very basic and no frills. Good for those who are not fussy about lodging. It is less than a mile from Falconhead (across street) but not walking distance due to a busy highway (620). No shuttle provided. No walkable restaurants. Car is needed to get to the course and restaurants, etc.
This is the 2 that I recommend, one is for those who like to be comfortable and have amenities, while the other one is low budget and no frills.
Of course, there are several other hotels in the area such as La Quinta, Multiple Marriott Chains and several others.
Don’t forget about AirBnB. Make sure you search in the Lakeway and Bee Cave Area.
Plenty of choices!
